The first edition of the road race Vitosha Uphill will be held on 11th October. The event is organized by Sports Club DRAG.
The format of the competition provides completely uphill route that starts at Boyana Residence and finishes at Zvezditsa hut. The distance of the race track is 22 km and the total displacement is 1200 m.
The competition aims to encourage more people to try and enjoy road cycling. It is aimed not only at professional road cyclists but also at anyone who would like to rise to the challenge of cycling up Vitosha mountain to the highest point accessible by road.
The prize fund is 2500 lev includes vouchers for chain stores DragZone and cycling clothing Doltcini.

1. Time and Place
The race will be held on Saturday, 11.10.2014.
In case of heavy rain, snow or stormy weather the competition will take place on October 18th. Competitors will be informed of any changes by email and the Facebook event page.
2. Event Programme
10:00 Meet in front of Boyana Residence (Ringroad near Boyana turnoff) - altitude 649 m
11:00 Official Start
We ride along Daskal Stoyan Popandreev Str, Ivanitsa Danchev Str, Belovodski Pat Str.
Finish Zvezditsa Hut, Vitosha Mountain 1850 metres altitude.
Award ceremony Zvezditsa Hut will take place 30 minutes after the medallists have finished.
Distance: 22 km
Please note the competition finishes at Zvezditsa Hut, the organizer bears no responsibility for the descent back to Sofia.

- Senior Cadets born 01.01.1996 - 31.12.1997
- Men born before 31.12.1995
- Men professional (licensed UCI Elite riders)
- Veterans born before 31.12.1974 (for riders who select this status)
If one category has less than 5 people the organizers reserve the right to include them in another group's ranking.
IV.Requirements:
Each competitor is required:
- to adhere to the regulations of the Bulgarian Cycling Union
- to sign the declaration attesting their good health and cycling skills - download here. The organizers and judges reserve the right to stop any competitor it considers unfit to complete the race.
- All participants under 16 years old must provide a written declaration from a parent (signed by the parent at registration or in front of the team leader).

- Participate with a fully functioning bicycle and wear a properly fitting helmet and gloves.
- Assistance from cars, motorbikes or other motorised vehicles is not allowed.
- Have adequate insurance.
- We recommend that every participant should have a cell phone with a fully charged battery in case of accidents.
V. Fee and registering for the competition:
Entry fee 15 leva. You may register and pay your fee at the DragZone Bulgaria store in Sofia , Bulgaria Blvd., block 7А, phone: (02) 859 11 23, 0884 68 56 83. You must also fill in and submit the 'Declaration of Participation' at the same time. Your race number will be handed to you when registering.
Last deadline for registering and paying the fee is 16 :00 on 09.10.2014 .
Whether you are not from Sofia and you cannot visit DragZone Bulgaria store, you may register by phoning DragZone Bulgaria store: (02) 859 11 23, 0884 68 56 83. For receiving your number, you must attend the competition minimum one hour before the start and pay register fee.
VI. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. I.D card.
2. Declaration of Participation must be filled out by every participant when registering and paying the fee. The declaration states you are participating at your own risk and are aware of the risks of cycling on the road, and are aware of the terms and conditions of this event.
3. Life insurance.
4. Proof of paid entry fee.
VII. Ranking and prizes :
The ranking is separate for individual and team racers. All teams must pass the checkpoint with less than two minutes difference in the given time. If not the racers' times will be considered only in the individual ranking. The best rider and downhiller will also be awarded.
