Blackburn Mars 3.0 Rear Light
It uses seven LEDs to provide the light, and is powered by two supplied AAA batteries. The water resistant case is robust, and as well as having a built in mount, comes with a seatpost bracket should you wish to mount on your bike. Five of the LEDs face straight back at the traffic, while two of them flash through orange casing to act as sidelights. You can pick between flashing, constant and a scrolling effect, which draws more than enough attention to you. Lifetime guarantee completes this perfect LED"
Blackburn Mars 4.0 rear light
With a main one watt LED and two smaller side facing LEDs the Mars 4.0 is one of the best sealed rear lights. A tool-free removable rear plate covers the batteries, but beyond the battery plate everything is sealed. The power button is part of the secondary seal behind the internal battery tray. A lifetime warranty and excellent performance are matched by a run time of over 150 hours, and there’s an array of top quality tool-free mounting options. "Well-sealed, easy to use & highly visible. Highly recommended."
Blackburn USB Flea front light
Don't be fooled by the picture, this is a tiny front light – it’s just 4cm long and weighs a mere 18g. Diminutive it may be, but the four LEDs put out a more impressive light than its size suggests. Where the Flea really scores, though, is that you can recharge its internal lithium-ion battery on your computer using a supplied USB connector. A full charge supplies three hours on steady light and a flashing option is also available. "Great little backup light that packs a surprisingly big punch"
Blackburn Voyager 3.0
The light readings showed the Voyager 3.0 to be surprisingly bright. The beam from the Voyager is just enough to ride with on dark roads, but if you're travelling at any kind of speed its limited projection soon comes into play and you find yourself riding beyond the scope of the light. Running on four AAA batteries it gave 18 hours of constant light, which is two hours less than claimed.
BlackBurn Voyager 2.0/Mars Click light set
In terms of visibility and also kicking out enough light to make progress with in the dark, the Voyager front light in this set is really very good. The rear light, although pretty good in performance, suffered from water and road grime getting into the switch mechanism. The problem is that the lens is the switch, you depress it to operate, and the gap between lens and body is right in line of the rear wheel spray when mounted on the seatpost. This led to us not being able to turn the rear light off.
